Towerrunning USA is pleased to announce that the 3rd annual Tunnel to Towers Tower Climb, held in the iconic One World Trade Center in New York City, is now accepting registrations for this year’s stairclimb event.
Many members of Towerrunning USA have participated in the climb in the two years since its inception, and have amazing stories of how challenging and meaningful the experience was. Racers enthusiastically describe how privileged and honored they were to climb the over 2000 steps to the top of One World Trade Center, a feat performed in memory of those first responders and others impacted on September 11, 2001.
This year, we will be joined in our race to the top by world class elite athletes from Towerrunning USA and the International Skyrunning Federation, which this year added the climb to its Vertical World Circuit. When we cross the finish line on the 102nd floor, the breathtaking view will provide yet another reward.
This year’s Tower Climb will be held on Sunday, June 4. Funds raised will go the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation, established in memory of the fallen 9/11 firefighter. Tunnel to Towers will dedicate money raised towards building high-tech “smart homes” for catastrophically injured service members.
For Towerrunning USA ranking purposes, this will be a 150-point race. I look forward to seeing you at the Tower Climb. For more information and to register, visit oneworldclimb.org. For access to the Towerrunning USA hotel block for the climb, contact http://travelbypak.agenthub.net/about.php
